Thanks, Steve, and everyone else. Yeah, if they had a name like Aristobulous, I'd have made a hammered dulcimer just to fit the name plate on.

But it worked out well. One is Jeff, the other Matt. Perfect fit.

Matt, my first three were all dreds, next I'm going to be a little different. Going to make a Kinkead style OM from curly oak with lutz top and all trim will be bloodwood.(all wood from the Zootster himself. I haven't bound a FB or headstock yet so I'm considering trying it in bloodwood on the OM. This guitar will be a gift for my brother.

I probably won't start on it until after the first of the year, though. I'm either going to build a climate controlled room inside my shop or install a good dust control system. Can't afford both right now, so will probably do the dust thing first. This is an expensive "hobby" if you just build and give them away.    However it is about the most FUN I can have at my age.

Ron, reading some of the other threads it would be great if you could report back on how the two compare in sound (a few pics of the boys receiving them would be nice too).

The reason I ask is that I've started building in pairs though have not had two completed at the same time to do a good sound comparison.

I showed the pics of your sons guitars to my wife who has a great eye for detail. You got two thumbs way up from my favorite critic. Her comment was -- the man has a great eye for proportion and taste!
